The industrial use of Natural Diamond Powder has developed not only because of its unique physical and chemical characteristics, but because its international history and proven standards throughout the past 50 years.
Natural Diamond is known mainly by three distinctive characteristics:
- Hardness: A strong blocky well shaped particle with various smooth surfaces and sharp edges. In abrasion tests and Knoop indentation tests, the natural diamond particle is measured at 10 on the mohs scale.
- Crystal structure: A single element of carbon in a cubic configuration producing octahedral surfaces. Brilliant white in color.
- Thermal properties: The natural diamond particle is an excellent insulator: graphitization at 600 degrees centigrade in air.
