End Use Recommendations


GRIT SIZE | SURFACE FINISHES

Grit sizes in each of the above groups are used in their proper sequence for the type of work for which they are intended, 
as follows.

A GROUP: Super Fine Grit Sizes for final finishing highly specialized select work to produce 0 to 1 micro-inch perfect mirror finishes. Recommended for final finishing high precision gauges, instrument parts, precision bearings, optical, metallurgical and gem polishing, special laboratory use, etc.

B GROUP: Fine Grit Sizes, classified as general purpose high polish mirror finishing grades for final finishing of a wide variety of work. They are also preparatory or prepolishing grits, necessarily used in their proper sequence to prepare surfaces for final finishing.

C GROUP: Medium Grit Sizes for fast stock removal. Produce excellent semi-mirror finishes in their micro-inch range. Used for final finishing where true and accurate but less critical finishes are required. Also as preparatory grits, in their proper sequence, to prepare rough surface for finer final finishing.

D GROUP: Coarse Grit Sizes for heavy stock removal. Will produce uniform, accurate surfaces in their micro-inch range. Also necessary to the preparation of very rough surfaces for finer final finishing.
